Replacement of a timber bridge with the construction of a two-lane 6 span bridge near Goodooga, NSW.
The scope of work included:
Design and construction of a temporary working platform(s) to enable installation of the required formwork, reinforcement, and concreting operations for the bridge superstructure;
Installation of precast piles
Construction of two abutments, including supply of all formwork, reinforcement and concrete;
Construction of five headstocks, including supply of all formwork, reinforcement and concrete;
Construction of approach slabs including supply of all formwork, reinforcement, concrete and other material for joints at abutments;
Installation of precast deck panels
Installation of bridge traffic barrier
Installation of W-Beam Guardrail, Transition to Bridge Guardrail and MELT Treatments
Construction of rock protection at each abutment including supply of suitable rock material;
Traffic control for the duration of the works;
Erosion and sedimentation control for the duration of the works.
The completed bridge is 8.7 m wide x 100m long, with a design loading of MS1600 in accordance with AS5100.
